In Loving Memory

Charles (Chuck) Melvin Smith Jr., 52, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026. Born on February 17, 1973 in Manassas, VA. Chuck was a beloved son, brother, father, uncle, and friend whose generous spirit and steady presence touched everyone around him.

Chuck worked with King Carpentry, where his craftsmanship, reliability, and pride in a job well done were evident in every project. Outside of work, he lived for the open road — riding his orange Harley Road Glide locally and on long cross‑country trips with friends — and found joy in attending concerts and sharing music. Those who knew him best remember his big heart, his sense of humor and how he could always be counted on to lend a hand.

He is lovingly survived by his father, Charles Smith Sr., mother, Thelma Key, and stepfather, Ronald Key; his siblings Michael Smith (Heather), Nicole Byfield (Steve), and Donovan Key (Tami); his children Brandon, Austen, and Mariah Smith; his nephew Cameron Smith and niece Bella Byfield; along with many dear family members and friends who will continue to honor his memory.

Chuck's legacy is the kindness he gave freely, the miles he logged with gratitude, and the family he loved without reservation. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
